How much power will I actually get?

Our power calculator's UK solar model uses 2.39 effective sun-hours per day in summer and 0.74 in winter. That gives the 190W panel roughly 454Wh (about 35Ah) per day in summer and 141Wh (about 11Ah) per day in winter. The 130W gives 311Wh (about 24Ah) in summer and 96Wh (about 7.5Ah) in winter. That covers a typical compressor fridge plus LED lights and device charging through a UK summer — in winter, plan on alternator charging to fill the gap.

Do I need the bigger panel?

If you run a compressor fridge, the 190W is worth the extra. If it's just lights and device charging, the 130W handles it. The MPPT controller in this kit is sized to match whichever you choose.

Can I add a second panel later?

Yes — but if you're planning a multi-panel setup, start with the Multi Panel Kit which includes the correct controller and cabling for the higher current. Adding a panel to a single-panel kit may require a controller upgrade.

What's the difference between MPPT and PWM?

PWM controllers just connect the panel to the battery at whatever voltage the battery sits at. MPPT controllers convert the panel's higher voltage to the battery's charging voltage, extracting maximum power. In real terms: MPPT gets you up to 30% more charging from the same panel.
