Rayne Automotive has always had one simple principle: the customer comes first. That is why we design and tailor products not just for each vehicle, but for every customer. You should not have to buy off-the-shelf parts and modify them to fit your van — tell us what you are building and we will make sure you get exactly what you need, from the advice to the product to the aftercare.
Rayne Automotive was founded in 2012 by father-and-son team Kevin and James. With a background centred on electronics, the automotive industry and production management, the business grew from vehicle diagnostics and repair into a design-and-product company, now recognised nationwide as a quality brand in campervan electrics.
It grew quickly. The first workshop was a single garage; that became a purpose-built workshop, and then our current, significantly larger premises in Pebmarsh, Essex — where, honestly, the walls are straining a little, packed with products.
Everything a campervan conversion needs electrically, designed and assembled under one roof: pre-wired power boards, wiring looms, split charge and DC-DC charging, solar panel kits, mains hook-up kits, batteries and complete systems. If your build does not fit a standard kit, our bespoke design service and the System Builder will spec a system around your van. And if you convert vans for a living, our trade accounts are built for you.
James started out as a Bentley and Mercedes auto technician before studying business management at university. He is the primary designer of our systems and provides our advanced technical support.
Kevin founded Rayne Automotive with his son James in 2012, bringing a background in electronics, the automotive industry and production management.
A former air-cooled and early water-cooled VW restoration expert, Richard also doubles as our in-house professional photographer.
