Custom Electrical Systems

Built Around Your Van

Every van is different. A custom wiring kit means we take your layout, your appliances, your requirements — and engineer the system around them.

What a custom kit actually is

Built to Your Layout. Not Someone Else's.

Our custom kits cover the full range of 12V and 240V electrical systems for campervans, vans, and overland vehicles — from a straightforward 12V leisure system to a full Victron-based installation with solar, lithium battery management, mains hookup, and an inverter/charger.

What makes it custom is simple: you tell us exactly what's going in your van and where. We review your layout, ask questions where needed, and build the complete system from individually specified, pre-terminated cables and components — the same parts we use in our pre-wired power boards, configured to your exact requirements.

Every system is reviewed and signed off by our team before it ships. If we spot a problem with your spec, we'll call you before anything is built.

Who this is for

For People Who Know What They Want From Their Van — But Not Always How to Get There.

Custom kits are for self-builders who want a system specified to their exact layout — not adapted from a standard kit. You might be fitting a specific inverter, routing cables to precise locations, or combining components that don't come in any bundle. That's exactly what this service is for.

If you're not sure what you need yet, the Electrical System Builder is the right starting point. It asks the right questions, produces a complete system recommendation, and lets you book a call with us directly — which becomes the basis for your custom quote.

How to order

Three Ways to Get Started

There's no single right way to order. Pick whichever suits how you work.

1

Use the Electrical System Builder

Answer questions about your van, your appliances, and how you plan to use it. The System Builder produces a complete system specification and lets you book a call with us directly. Takes about 10 minutes.

2

Book a Phone Consultation

If you'd rather talk it through, book a call. James will work through your requirements directly and build your specification from that conversation. No forms. No waiting.

3

Send Us Your Layout

If you've already planned your build, email us your layout — a sketch, a plan view, or a list of components and locations. Our team reviews every layout and gets in touch to confirm your specification before anything is built.

What happens next

We Review Every Order Before Anything Is Built

Whichever route you take, every custom order goes through the same process.

1

We receive your specification

Via the System Builder, a consultation call, or your emailed layout — we take whatever you send us.

2

Our team reviews it

We check your specification against the components, identify anything that needs clarifying, and confirm the final design with you before anything is picked or shipped.

3

We build and ship

Once confirmed, we build your system from individually specified components. Lead time from confirmed specification: typically 5–7 working days.

4

We're still here after it arrives

If you have questions during installation, call us. We support every system we build.

This isn't a click-and-buy process. It's a considered purchase and we treat it like one.

Why Rayne

Built From Parts That Work

Every component in a Rayne custom kit is something we stock, specify, and support. We don't bundle in parts we haven't tested. The same components go into our own pre-wired power boards — which are bench-tested before they leave us.

Common questions

FAQ

Lead time from confirmed specification is typically 5–7 working days. We'll confirm the exact timeline when we sign off your design.
Yes. Our pre-wired boards can be the heart of a custom system — we build the extended wiring loom, additional circuits, and supporting components around it to match your layout exactly.
Start with the Electrical System Builder. It gives you a complete system recommendation in about 10 minutes, which you can bring to us as the basis for your quote. Or just book a call — we're happy to talk through your requirements from scratch.
No. A rough idea of your layout and what appliances you want to run is enough to start. We'll help you refine the specification from there.
A pre-wired power board is a complete, bench-tested unit covering the core of your electrical system — battery management, charging, distribution, and (where specified) an inverter. A custom kit wraps around that: the extended cable runs, the additional circuits, the components that make the system fit your specific van. They often go together.
