Supplies an extraordinary 70A charge to your leisure battery whilst driving — the fastest alternator charging available in the Victron range. For large lithium banks (300Ah+) or vehicles that only do short drives, the XS 70A recovers serious energy in minimal time.
Despite the huge output, the Orion XS runs at 98.5% efficiency. That means less heat, less strain on your alternator, and more of the power your engine produces actually ending up in your battery. Full Bluetooth control lets you dial the current up or down to match your setup — with main and leisure battery voltage and charge state live in the VictronConnect app.
The cable kit — 25mm² for runs over 5m, 16mm² under — is pre-cut to the length for your van model and battery location, with heavy-duty ring terminals professionally crimped and inline fuses fitted. It's built to carry 70A without breaking a sweat.
For a 300Ah lithium bank at 50% discharge, the XS 70A recovers 150Ah in just over 2 hours of driving. If your van sits on the drive during the week and you head out for weekends, this is the kit that means you never arrive at camp low on power.
The XS uses next-generation power electronics that waste just 1.5% of input energy as heat. At 70A, that's the difference between a charger that runs cool for years and one that cooks itself in the footwell.
Not all alternators can spare 70A. Use the VictronConnect app to set the output current to what your vehicle can safely give — anywhere from 20A to 70A — and see both input and output battery voltage and the charge profile live.
If you're running 460Ah or 628Ah lithium banks, inverters, and heavy 12V loads, you need the fastest possible recovery between drives. The XS 70A is the top of the range for a reason.

Most modern vans with 150A+ alternators can. The Orion XS lets you limit the charge current via Bluetooth — start at 50A and watch the main and leisure battery voltage in the app, then adjust up or down. Vehicles with smaller alternators should consider the XS 50A instead.
The 70A is designed for large lithium banks — 300Ah and above. For smaller banks (100-200Ah), the XS 50A or Smart 30A will charge at the fastest rate your battery can accept without over-spec.
Not usually. The Orion XS draws only what your alternator can spare after running the vehicle. If you notice dimming lights or slow cranking, reduce the charge current in the app.
Yes — the Orion XS runs alongside a separate solar charge controller. For a combined solar + alternator setup, look at the Solar + Power Board kits or add an MPPT controller separately.
