Will this work with my van's alternator?

Yes — the Orion Smart works with both smart alternators (Euro 6 engines from 2015, usually with stop-start) and traditional alternators. It reads the input voltage and regulates its output accordingly.

What's the difference between this and the VSR kit?

The VSR kit simply connects the two batteries when the engine runs — the leisure battery only gets whatever voltage the alternator produces. The Orion Smart is a proper charger: it regulates voltage, uses multi-stage charging, works with smart alternators, and handles lithium batteries safely.

How fast will it charge my battery?

At 18A, you'll recover roughly 18Ah per hour of driving. For a 100Ah battery at 50% discharge, that's about 2.5 hours of driving to fully charge. If you need faster recovery, consider the 30A or XS 50A kits.

Do I need the fuse box option?

If you already have a fuse box in place, select 'No Fuse Box'. If you're starting from scratch, the 6-way (SC7) or 12-way (SC6) fuse box gives you a tidy distribution point for your 12V loads.
