Complete 240V hook-up kit with consumer unit, inlet and sockets — safe shore power without a built-in charger

Gives your campervan safe 240V shore power — plug in at a campsite and run your sockets, heater, and existing charger from the mains. The kit includes the essential safety chain: outdoor-rated inlet socket, consumer unit with RCD/MCB protection, and double-pole isolation.

This is the no-charger version. If you already have a battery charger, or you're running solar and just want 240V sockets for appliances, this kit covers the mains side without duplicating what you already own.

Every kit is assembled and tested in our UK workshop. The consumer unit arrives internally pre-wired with RCD/MCB protection — you connect the inlet cable, run the socket cable, and it's a proper electrical installation, not a blue plug and a bit of flex.

01RCD/MCB — Protection That Actually Trips

The consumer unit pairs an RCD (protecting you from electric shock, tripping in milliseconds if current leaks to earth) with an MCB (protecting the wiring from overload). Cheaper kits use a plain MCB that won't protect you from a live-to-earth fault.

02Rated for Outdoor Life

The inlet is IP67-rated — dust-tight and waterproof even with the hose on it. British campsites in November are not kind to cheap inlets.

03No Charger, No Waste

If you're charging from solar or already have a charger, this kit gives you the mains infrastructure without paying for a second charger you don't need.

04Pre-Wired for a Proper Installation

The consumer unit arrives internally pre-wired and tested. You're connecting cables, not building an enclosure — safer, faster, and neater.

❓ FAQ

Why no charger in this kit?

Because you might already have one. If you're running a Victron MPPT solar setup with a power board, you may only need 240V for sockets and a heater. This kit covers that without charging you for a charger you don't need.

What's the difference between an RCD and an MCB?

The RCD trips in milliseconds if current leaks to earth, protecting you from electric shock. The MCB trips if the circuit overloads, protecting the wiring from fire. Together they cover both failure modes — that's why every Rayne Automotive kit ships with both.

Can I add a charger later?

Yes — the consumer unit has space for a charger circuit. Our Victron charger kits connect straight in. Choose the kit with the charger now if you're planning one anyway — it works out cheaper.

How many sockets can I have?

Choose your socket configuration at checkout. The 2-way consumer unit supports multiple socket circuits for larger layouts.
