Charges your leisure battery from two sources automatically — 20A from your alternator whilst driving, and solar power when you're parked up. The CTEK D250SE senses which power source is available and switches between them seamlessly, so your battery keeps charging whether you're on the road or at camp.
The built-in MPPT solar regulator means you don't need a separate solar charge controller. Connect a solar panel to the second input and the D250SE optimises the harvest — a simpler, tidier setup than running two separate charging systems.
The cable kit is pre-cut to the length for your van model and battery location, with ring terminals professionally crimped and inline fuses fitted. One unit on the wall, one tidy installation, two charging sources.
Alternator charging whilst driving, solar charging whilst parked. The D250SE handles the switchover automatically — you never think about it. For vans that sit at campsites for days, the solar input keeps the battery topped up without running the engine.
Connect a solar panel directly to the D250SE's second input and it regulates the charge properly. No separate MPPT controller to buy, mount, or wire — a cleaner installation and one less thing to go wrong.
Works with Euro 6 engines and stop-start systems that confuse basic relays. The D250SE reads the alternator's behaviour and charges when it can, pauses when it can't.
CTEK's reputation was built on battery care. The 8-stage profile conditions and maintains your battery, not just charges it — particularly valuable for AGM batteries that suffer from chronic undercharging.

No — the D250SE has an MPPT solar regulator built in. Connect your solar panel to the second input and it handles the charge regulation. This is what makes the D250SE different from every other split charge option.
The D250SE accepts solar input up to 20A. A single 150W or 190W panel works perfectly. For larger arrays, you may need a separate MPPT controller with more capacity.
The Orion kits are pure DC-DC chargers — they charge from the alternator only. The D250SE adds solar input, making it ideal if you plan to add a panel later. The trade-off is lower alternator charging (20A vs up to 70A on the Orion XS).
Yes — the D250SE supports lithium charging profiles. Select the lithium mode during installation and it charges at the correct voltage for LiFePO4 batteries.
