If you want lights, a fridge, phone charging, a coffee machine, or any real comfort when you're parked up โ you need a dedicated 12V electrical system. It's completely separate from your van's starter battery and engine electrics.
The principle is simple: you store energy in a leisure battery, charge it from your van's alternator while driving, from solar panels while parked, or from a mains hook-up on site. Then draw from it to run your appliances โ 12V directly, or 240V via an inverter.
The complexity comes from sizing it correctly, wiring it safely, and making sure everything works together. That's where we come in.

Off-grid EssentialConnect to campsite power for reliable, unlimited charging. Ideal for winter van life, electric cooking, and site-based trips. Requires a mains hook-up kit โ if you only want mains on campsites, you don't need an inverter, just a battery charger.
Campsite UsersCharges your leisure battery automatically while you're driving. Every build should have one. Modern DC-DC chargers (like the Victron Orion Tr or XS range) are required for modern vans and/or lithium leisure batteries.
