One purchase and your camper is a genuine off-grid machine — DC charging, solar harvesting, 240V inverter power, mains hook-up, and a 230Ah lithium battery to run it all. The aim here is to cover all of your fusing, switching, wiring, battery and charging for the complete electrical system. Every part is specified to work together: the charger suits the battery, the cable suits the charger, the Multiplus inverter and mains kit handle the 240V side. This is the component version for a conventional, self-mounted/connected install: the 12V Core Install Kit gives you the Orion XS 50A charger, 12-way fuse box, busbar and isolator set, and the van layout wiring loom; the rigid solar kit adds 380W of harvesting with its SmartSolar MPPT controller; the mains wiring kit and Multiplus 2000Va complete the 240V side. Cooking on electricity is the headline. The pre-programmed Multiplus delivers 1600W of pure sine 240V — induction hob, kettle, air fryer — silently from your own battery, and acts as an 80A charger when you hook up. No gas refills, no cooking fumes.

Based on the System Builder’s appliance power and daily-use settings, with a 230Ah × 12.8V = 2944Wh lithium battery. Each tile shows one load on its own, with no solar or alternator charging; no reserve or losses are deducted. Real mixed-use runtime will be shorter.

40W × 8h/day = 320Wh/day~73.6 days
8W × 5h/day = 40Wh/day~73.6 days
20W × 2h/day = 40Wh/day~32.7 days
30W × 3h/day = 90Wh/day~41.8 days
8.8W × 8h/day = 70.4Wh/day~196.3 days
60W × 0.25h/day = 15Wh/dayThe MultiPlus 2000VA delivers 1600W of continuous pure sine 240V power with a confirmed 4000W peak rating, and provides 80A battery charging on hook-up. Here is what it can realistically run off-grid:
70-350W
Comfortable combined load
500-800W
No problem
700-1000W
Runs comfortably
800-1500W
Check its nameplate rating
1200-1600W
Short use within the continuous limit
300-1600W
4000W peak helps with start-up demand
1000-1600W
Only where the actual input stays within 1600W
2000-2400W
Above the 1600W continuous limit
Lights + television + devices + microwave: around 1200W — comfortable
Air fryer or low-setting induction cooking: use as the main load and keep the total below 1600W
Wattages are typical values — check each appliance label. Keep the combined continuous load within 1600W. The 4000W figure is a short peak capability, not a continuous appliance allowance.
380W of solar refills the battery faster than a typical van's daily drain; the Multiplus turns the battery into 240V mains wherever you are. Park up for days and live normally.
Induction hob, air fryer, kettle — silently powered from your own battery. No gas refills, no carbon monoxide worries from cooking, no flame near soft furnishings.
98.5% efficiency means virtually none of your alternator's power is wasted as heat, and large batteries recover at up to 50Ah per hour of driving. Ideal when you're running a big bank.
XS 50A from the alternator, 380W of MPPT-tracked solar, 80A from the Multiplus on hook-up. The 230Ah battery always recovers fast.

Yes — the Multiplus delivers 1600W of continuous pure sine 240V, which runs a single-zone induction hob, air fryer, or kettle (check your appliance's rating). With 230Ah of battery and 380W of solar, cooking bursts are comfortably within the daily budget.
We offer 10 layouts — Small Van A-D and Large Van 1-6 — with looms and cables drawn to order. If yours isn't listed, call or email us before ordering and we'll spec a custom one.
Try our online System Builder at systembuilder.rayneautomotive.co.uk. The Off-Grid Adventure suits off-grid trips with electric cooking; the Full Off-Grid adds the Multiplus II 3000Va, 760W of solar, monitoring and a 460Ah battery for full-time living.
The 12V side is very achievable for a competent DIYer — drawn-to-order cables, labelled loom, straightforward connections. For the 240V side (Multiplus and mains wiring) we recommend a qualified installer signs off the final connection.
